I recently purchased the Apple Watch and have been using the native Workout app to track my runs. While using the Health App to view my workout results, I quickly ran into limitations.
- The Health App shows the duration of your run, but not the distance, pace or any stats that I care about unless I drill down into the individual details.
- I aim for a specific mileage per week, but there is no way to see my weekly totals.
- It shows all your workouts (running, cycling, rowing, etc). I want to see stats for individual workouts.
- No convenient way to change units from miles to km and vice versa.
- No way to share this data.
HealthKit Companion was made to address the above shortcomings. HealthKit Companion allows you to easily see your weekly statistics. All your workout data is conveniently displayed on a single screen so you can quickly access all your information without the hassle of scrolling. You can quickly page through weeks by either tapping on the arrows or swiping left / right on the screen. It supports either running or cycling, and you can easily switch the unit between miles and km.
